The course is developed in three phases:
First phase: Study of the cinematographic language.
Second phase: Practices of shooting with digital and analog camera.
Third phase: Shooting of the short film made by the students of the direction course.
The first phase faces all the problematic tied to the sintassi and the grammar of the cinematographic language (see direction program). In particular, the students of the shooting course will enter in the optic of the image in motion in order to face all the issues tied to the visual continuity, the light, the chromatic aspect, the composition of the picture, the movements of the camera etc etc.
The school recommends the students of the course of shooting to follow as auditors the direction course because the students must consider that the cinematographic work is the result of the collaboration between the several professions and that the task of the director is to coordinate the various units as he is the exclusive artistic responsible of the work. Consequently the operator or the director of the photography must have a maximum mastery of technical means and maximum respect of the film that the director has imagined, that naturally does not exclude the possibility to have an effect on with his own taste and his own style.
In the second phase the students of the course of shooting will practice with digital and analog cameras and they will be able to continue the practices at the inside of the recitation course shooting the exercises and the tests of the actors.
In the third phase, finally, the students depending on their availability and the artistic sintony which they will have acquired during the first year with the directors, they will be able to participate at the shooting of the short film of the direction course.
